How can you replace a full-time e-commerce specialist and have multiple clients?
Because Cart Critique is built on efficiency, expertise, and a very different model. 1. Shopify is what I do. I've spent over a decade in e-commerce and years specializing in Shopify operations. I know the platform. The fact is, most tasks don't take long. You just have to know the right tool to use or where to look. 2. I have a system to keep me organized. This allows me to be hyper-efficient and deliver proactive support to each of my clients. 3. I super-serve a handful of clients. I don't have or want 50 clients. My goal is to work with 4-8 awesome ones that I can truly serve as a strategic partner. This model allows me to provide deep, personalized attention that most large agencies can't match. 4. I have breadth of experience. Unlike a full-time employee who only knows one store, I bring the collective knowledge gained from managing tens of millions in e-commerce revenue across multiple brands. I know what works and what breaks. 5. Cart Critique is the future of e-commerce operations. It's the same reason companies outsource their media buying or accounting to agencies: it's a specialized skill that doesn't need a full-time, in-house employee. The savings and expertise you get from a dedicated specialist simply make more sense.
What kind of work does the retainer cover?
This service is comprehensive, covering everything from ongoing performance audits and catalog data architecture to full system stability and guaranteed priority support. This includes the management of one (1) active Project at a time, alongside unlimited Priority Maintenance and Bug Fixes. Here's a few more examples: website customizations, catalog architecture revamps (Metafields, collections, and data integrity), Shopify Flow automation builds and management, bug fixes and general platform troubleshooting (Liquid, CSS, JS). And of course, priority support. Guaranteed response times and priority scheduling for all requests. Essentially, if the task is fixing, optimizing, or automating existing infrastructure, it is covered by your retainer.
Can I still reach out for help even if I’m not on a monthly plan?
Absolutely. One-off requests or project-based work (like large catalog updates, app integrations, or Shopify setup) are available at an hourly or flat rate. Great for clients who don’t need ongoing support but still want expert help.
What’s the difference between you and a virtual assistant?
Unlike a general VA, I specialize in e-commerce operations and bring over a decade of hands-on experience managing complex Shopify and Shopify Plus stores. I work independently, understand the platform deeply, and can help prevent costly errors that less experienced support might miss.
Can you work with our agency or marketing team?
Yes! I often partner with digital marketing teams and media buyers to support technical tasks, build dynamic landing pages, manage site updates, and help execute campaigns without bottlenecks.
Do I need to sign a long-term contract?
No. I work on a project-by-project basis. I want this to feel flexible and low-pressure, not like a locked-in commitment.
Will I have to train you on how our store works?
Not really. I’m used to diving into new stores and getting up to speed quickly. I’ll ask a few onboarding questions, but beyond that, I aim to reduce your workload, not add to it.
What if I have a huge catalog or really custom store?
That’s what I do best. I’ve worked with stores that have 50,000+ variants, multiple markets, custom themes, and intricate logic. I can handle bulk imports/exports, scheduling, flows, and app troubleshooting with minimal friction.
Do you offer reporting or analytics?
I keep an eye on your Shopify Analytics or your preferred data source and flag any concerning trends or opportunities. I don’t do heavy reporting, but I’ll always let you know if I spot something off.
Do you only work with Shopify?
Shopify is my specialty, but I’ve worked across platforms like Magento, WooCommerce, Amazon, and more. If you're migrating or operating across channels, I can help guide strategy and implementation.
